The 2026 Chinese Grand Prix took place on a cold, overcast day. Most drivers prioritized warming up their tires during the formation lap, while others were still trying to make it to the grid. Both McLaren drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, experienced issues with their car. Gabriel Bortoleto (Audi) and Alex Albon (Williams) found themselves in the same situation and they were all unable to participate in the Grand Prix. The regulation changes have proven to be difficult for many, and teams seem to be working tirelessly to fine-tune their cars.
